Matching: connect what belongs together

Matching is a Sendsteps question type. Students link items on two sides, as text or images. You see who can pair a term with a definition, a cause with an effect, or a label with a picture.

When to use it

Use it for vocabulary, classification, cause and effect, or image-to-name pairs. Results can show lines or a combination matrix.

How it feeds the loop

Pairs are a Validate check on relationships, not only on recall of one list. Repeated wrong pairs are a signal for Improve. AI recommends, teachers decide.

Can the items be images?

Yes. Pairs can be text, images, or a mix, depending on how you build the question.

Do quieter students have to speak?

No. Everyone answers on their own device. Equal voice for every student, not only the hands that go up.

Can the answers feed Validate?

Yes. The combinations belong to the lesson. Validate can include them as evidence of who made the right pairs.
