Find a number: a numeric check everyone can join

Find a number is a Sendsteps question type. Students send a value, often within a range. You see how the group estimates, counts, or judges a quantity, without waiting for one volunteer at the board.

When to use it

Use it for estimates, measurements, dates, or a quantity in a case. Optional marking can show whether the answer sits in the range you set.

How it feeds the loop

The spread of numbers is easy to read in Validate. A cluster far from the range you expected is a signal to explain again, and can inform Improve for the next lesson.
