Use a slide layout
Do this first. The question then sits in a layout made for it.
- Under the slide list, choose Add slide.
- The dialog title is Choose a layout. The field says Search layouts…
- Choose Interactive Question Slide.
- If the question should sit next to an image, choose Interactive Question Slide with Image instead.
- If you do not see that layout, choose Show all layouts. Under that card you see Browse everything in a dedicated view.
- The slide is added. On it you see Click to add question and Insert interactive question here.
- Click Click to add question. The Questions panel opens. Its title is Interactive questions.
Then follow the steps below to add this question type.
Steps
- Open the presentation in the editor.
- Choose Questions. A panel opens. Its title is Interactive questions.
- Open On image, then choose Image marker.
- It appears on the slide you are on. You do not press Save.
- Click the question on the slide. It starts as Click on the correct area Type your own question.
- Open Image. If the slide has no picture yet, you see No images on this slide yet. Choose one from your library below. Pick an image on the slide, or add one from your library. The line says Pick an image on this slide, or add one from your library. It becomes a Find on image question. Then add markers for the correct areas.
- Open Markers. The line says Each marker defines a correct answer area. Participants must click inside any marker. Add circles, rectangles, or lassos for custom shapes. Draw a circle, a rectangle, or a lasso around each area you treat as correct.
What you see
The image sits on the slide. When you present live, you see the spots people clicked.
What participants do
On their own device, they click the image. A click inside one of your markers is the area you marked as correct.
When to use it
Use an Image marker when the answer is a place on a picture. A part of a diagram, a spot on a map, a point in a photo.
Ask why someone clicked that spot. A cluster of clicks shows an assumption the group shares.
Settings
Under Show answers, a new Image marker uses Show answers after a click. The result stays hidden until you click. Switch to Show answers immediately if you want it to appear while people are still answering.
If it does not work
If you have not added an image, you see No images on this slide yet. Choose one from your library below. Add the picture first, then add the markers.
A slide can hold one interactive question. If it already has one, you see One question per slide. The message says Only one interactive question per slide is allowed. Choose Cancel to stay on this slide, or Add to new slide to place the Image marker on a new slide.
