  2. The dialog title is Choose a layout. The field says Search layouts…
  3. Choose Interactive Question Slide.
  4. If the question should sit next to an image, choose Interactive Question Slide with Image instead.
  5. If you do not see that layout, choose Show all layouts. Under that card you see Browse everything in a dedicated view.
  6. The slide is added. On it you see Click to add question and Insert interactive question here.
  7. Click Click to add question. The Questions panel opens. Its title is Interactive questions.

Then follow the steps below to add this question type.

Steps

  1. Open the presentation in the editor.
  2. Choose Questions. A panel opens. Its title is Interactive questions.
  3. Open On image, then choose Label an image.
  4. It appears on the slide you are on. You do not press Save.

  6. Open Image and add the picture. Then open Items. The line says Accepted answers for each numbered label. Separate synonyms with a comma. Put the accepted words for each numbered label. Separate extra accepted words with a comma.
  7. You can add up to 12 labels.

What you see

The image sits on the slide with numbered spots. When you present live, you see the words people placed on those spots.

What participants do

On their own device, they type a name for each numbered spot.

When to use it

Use Label an image when people need to name the parts of a picture. A diagram, a map, a piece of equipment.

After the names are in, ask what a part does. Also talk about the parts people mix up.

Settings

Ignore small errors is on. The line under it says Frequent typos, like accent marks and upper/lower cases, will not be penalized. Turn it off if the spelling has to match exactly.

Time limit is off. People can answer for as long as the question stays open. Turn it on to close answers after 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes.

Participants can edit their answers is on. A person can change what they already sent. Turn it off if you want the first answer to stay.

If it does not work

A slide can hold one interactive question. If it already has one, you see One question per slide. The message says Only one interactive question per slide is allowed. Choose Cancel to stay on this slide, or Add to new slide to place the Label an image question on a new slide.
